Automatic boxes

Regular oil servicing

Change the oil at intervals of approx. 50,000 km (31,000 miles). Use oil of high quality (there are differences between oils) and/or add Lubegard. Change the filter (if the box has an "accessible" one).

Extra oil cooling

Heat is the worst enemy of an automatic gearbox. A car is in the danger-zone if it has a high annual mileage and is driven a lot in urban traffic or if it pulls heavy loads like trailers. Consider fitting an extra cooler.

Right oil

Lubrication, heat conduction, and heat resistance are some of the properties affecting the ability of the oil to keep a gearbox alive. Always choose a quality oil for servicing.

Better oil using Lubegard

An oil consists of 85% base oil and 15% additives. The base oil has the greatest impact on the performance of the oil. Lubegard ATF Protectant changes the structure of the base oil so that heat conduction, heat resistance, and lubrication work better. Add Lubegard ATF Protectant during each oil service. 

Drive carefully

Driving style can vary a lot from driver to driver. A careful driving style will keep the temperature (which is the worst enemy of the automatic box) down and reduce wear.

Manual gearboxes

Regular oil servicing

Keep a look out for metal shavings. Manual boxes do not have a filter and are extra sensitive to particles which wear down their parts.
